DONNING & REMOVAL
| Donning the cooling vest: | |||||
The cooling vest is supplied with two
quick-couplings that facilitates entry into, and removal from the
vest. The rear of the vest is that which has the short hose
attached to it. |
When putting on the vest, first ensure that the two quick-couplings on the vest are disconnected. |
| Entering from the left side of the vest, slide your right arm through the large opening created by the disconnected quick-couplings. Continue to slide your right arm through the large opening on the opposite (right) side of the vest. |
| Slide your head through the appropriate openings so that three lateral tubes are at the front of your torso. The three lateral tubes at the front of your torso should reside: 1) near the neckline, 2) across the chest, and 3) near the waistline. |
| Once the cooling vest is situated, re-connect the quick-couplings. |
Warning: make sure that the quick-coupling connections on the vest are fully engaged and locked before applying air pressure. If the vest is to be used during surgical procedures, it must be worn beneath surgical gowns. You are now ready to tap into the medical airline and be cooled!
Removal of the cooling vest:
Warning: Do not disconnect either of the two quick-couplings on the vest while under pressure. Unlike all other quick-couplings in the Pol-O.R. Bear Cooling System, these quick-couplings are not check-type and will not contain pressurized air. disconnecting these quick-couplings while under pressure may cause bodily injury.
Disconnect the male coupling on the regulator from the female coupling on the medical airline tether. This will leave the regulator attached to the hose that is part of the cooling vest.
Disconnect the quick-couplings at the left, front side of the vest. Slide the vest over your head and extricate your body through the large opening in the vest created by the disconnected quick-couplings.
Safety Notice:
The operation of the Pol-O.R. Bear Personal Air Conditioning System requires the use of pressurized medical grade air.
