Pol-O.R. Bear
Personal Air Conditioning System
ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS
Decide whether you desire to be a single user or allow others to tap into the same line. Once decided, follow the ordering instructions below, then complete an order form.
Single user systems require:
Wye fitting: The Wye fitting attaches to the medical airline connection within the office and/or operating room that is typically located at the wall or at a drop down from the ceiling. It branches the medical airline to the Pol-O.R. Bear vest and to the anesthesiologist's station. Wye fittings must be used so that medical air is available to the anesthesiologist's station at all times. The preferred medical coupling type must be specified, such as Ohmeda, Chemtron, Puritan, DISS, etc. (view fittings)
Medical airline tether: These yellow color-coded tethers connect the user from the Wye fitting to the regulator that is provided with the cooling vest. In the case of a multi-user system, the medical airline tether attaches to the multi-user manifold (see below). Tether lengths vary based on the location of the medical airline connection in the room. The preferred medical coupling type must be specified, such as Ohmeda, Chemtron, Puritan, DISS, etc. (view fittings) The following standard tether lengths are recommended:
15' for wall mounted medical air couplings
8' for ceiling drop down medical air couplings
5' for under table pedestal mount
Other; Texan Corporation can supply alternate tether lengths upon request at additional cost
Pol-O.R. Bear Cooling Vest: Includes vest and regulator
Multi-user systems require:
Wye fitting (view fittings)
Medical airline tether (view fittings)
Pol-O.R. Bear Cooling Vest
Manifold-to-vest tether: Connects the cooling vest to the multi-user manifold
Multi-user manifold: Allows multiple users to be cooled simultaneously. Connected to this manifold is the medical airline tether. Connecting from this manifold are the manifold-to-vest tethers.
Note: Please check with your Facilities and/or Maintenance Manager about the number of allowable users on one medical airline port. Inform that person that the Pol-O.R. Bear vest consumes the following amount of air:
| PSI | 15 | 20 | 25 | 30 | 35 | 40 | 45 | 50 |
| CFM | 2.5 | 3.4 | 4.2 | 5.0 | 5.5 | 6.0 | 6.4 | 6.8 |
