Personal Air Conditioning System

OPERATION

For single user systems:

Warning: prior to applying pressurized air to the cooling vest, make sure that the quick-coupling connections on the vest are fully engaged and locked.  Reference instructions for "Donning the cooling vest" under "Donning & Removal".

1. Connect the Wye fitting to medical airline supply at the wall or at the drop down from the ceiling.

2. Connect Texan's medical airline tether to the Wye fitting.  The small female coupling on the opposite end of this tether is a check type, meaning that the pressurized air is captured until it is connected to a corresponding male fitting.

3. Connect an additional medical airline tether from the Wye fitting to the anesthesiologists' station. (Note: Texan Corporation does not supply this tether)  It is the tether that has medical type quick-couplings on both ends.

4. Connect the female coupling of the medical airline tether to the male fitting on the regulator.

5. Connect the female coupling of the regulator to the male fitting on the hose dangling from the rear of the cooling vest.

6. Using the knob on the regulator, increase or decrease the amount of airflow to suit personal comfort.

Note: In the event medical air is needed to serve the anesthesiologists' station simply disconnect Texan's cooling system either at the regulator or at the Wye fitting.

For multi-user systems:

Foreword: check with your Facilities and/or Maintenance Manager about the number of allowable users on one medical airline port.  Inform that person that the Pol-O.R. Bear vest consumes the following amount of air:

1. Follow instructions 1 through 3 for single user systems.

2. Connect the female coupling of the medical airline tether to the male fitting on the multi-user manifold.

3. Connect the male coupling of the manifold-to-vest tether to the female fitting on the multi-user manifold.

4. Connect the female coupling of the manifold-to-vest tether to the male fitting on the regulator.

5. Connect the female coupling of the regulator to the male fitting on the cooling vest.

6. Using the knob on the regulator, increase or decrease the amount of airflow to suit personal comfort.

Note: In the event medical air is needed to serve the anesthesiologists' station simply disconnect Texan's cooling system either at the regulator or at the Wye fitting.
